Fair warning to anyone who adopts Oliver.  He is so dang cute you will end up letting him do whatever he wants whenever he wants!   Oliver takes a minute to get used to change - be it new people, new surroundings, new sounds.  But as soon as he relaxes and feels safe, he is in one of two modes - playful and world class snuggle bug.  He’ll chase strings and balls until he’s tuckered out, and then he’ll want to nuzzle up next to you or on your lap for neck scratches and head rubs.  Listening to his purrs as he loves on you is heaven on earth… Paradoxically he is also a ‘chill’ cat in many ways.  You can kiss him, trim his nails, pick him up like a baby, he’ll go with the flow IF he feels safe and relaxed.  Because he doesn’t like surprises, it would be best if Oliver is placed in a quiet home with adults and slightly older calm children.  He is good with other cats, and likely will be fine with most dogs.  If he’s an only pet, please be prepared to give him plenty of attention (he is a social and friendly cat).  

Most of Dexter's Kitties are fixed, chipped, SNAP combo tested and vaccinated for their age. The adoption fee is $125 for a kitten, $200 for two kittens. If you rent your home, we respectfully ask for your landlord or management company's information to confirm pets are allowed. If you own your home, we will check public records to confirm.  

If the cat is still on our website, that means the cat is still currently available. If you have questions, your inquiries will be given priority if you submit an application at www.DextersKitties.org.

We are a volunteer team and try to respond as quickly as time allows. 

And finally please remember that cats can live more than 20+ years, so this is a LIFE TIME commitment.  Please make sure you have the financial resources, a stable home, and someone to take the cat(s) if something heaven forbid happens and you can no longer care for them.  Thank you for adopting a rescue cat!
